NBA Jock MKT Pick ‘Em – March 15th – Philadelphia 76ers at Cleveland Cavaliers

Joel Embiid Over 31 Points

The Philadelphia 76ers are on a 5 game win streak and can thank Joel Embiid for putting in MVP performances every single night to get them to the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference.

At first glance, the 31 point line may seem high. However, when it comes to Embiid a 30+ point is commonplace. The 76ers star center is almost guaranteed to eclipse this number when he steps on the court as the team’s offense relies almost entirely on his production along with James Harden getting him open opportunities.

In the last six games straight, Embiid has scored 30+ points, logging an average of 31 minutes on the floor where he touches the ball on the majority of the 76ers offensive possessions. Embiid has been putting up 20+ field goals per game and even has capability from the three. In last week’s game against the Timberwolves, he went 4-4 from the beyond the arc.

In an Eastern Conference heavyweight matchup with playoff seeding implications, we can rely on Embiid to surpass this 31 point mark.

Embiid and the over tonight vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Tobias Harris Under 16.5 Points + Rebounds

The forgotten star on the 76ers this season is Tobias Harris. Most would forget that he is a max player, who makes very little impact on the 76ers games and even less of an impact on the stat sheet.

Despite consistently logging between 25-30 minutes per game, Harris has only eclipsed the 16.5 Points + Rebounds mark once in the last five games. He rarely shoots the three anymore, and when he does he is good for one successful shot from deep. He has gone games only attempting 4 field goals in this 76ers last ten contests and has only shot the ball as many as 12 times once during this run. He is averaging 11 points per game this season.

With Joel Embiid and James Harden getting most of the scoring opportunities, it is tough to put money on Harris to make an impact on the stat sheet. He is only averaging 4.9 rebounds per game and at 6’7 is undersized against the Cavaliers front court of Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen. This will allow him to make little impact on the boards on either end of the court tonight, too.

Hammer the under 16.5 line on Tobias Harris tonight.
